Oregonpalooza Day 1!

I am happy to report that we got to go on our trip to Oregon! Yeah! It was touch and go for a little bit because 2 days before we were to leave Bubbas was diagnosed with pneumonia and was 1% on his O2 sats from being in the hospital. This kid I tell you! Luckily, his blood oxygen levels slowly started to get higher (after him being at 87% at night while sleeping, which the ER doc said was "completely normal"-yeah right crazy woman...wait 'till his pediatrician hears that one!) and so we were off with antibiotics in tow!

We took off Saturday afternoon after lunch. Our first stop was Castle Crags near Dunsmuir, CA. Side note...my Grandma and Grandpa used to live in Dunsmuir so it was fun to see what they used to see :). We were due to stay over in Castle Crags State Park. As we pulled into the park that evening with beautiful views of Mt. Shasta and the crags in sight we were a little apprehensive about our 5th wheel being able to park there. We were correct about being apprehensive as the hairpin turns inside the park used all of Joshua's mad driving skills to get us out of there. We made it out and decided to look for somewhere else to rest our heads.

While driving North on 5, we saw a sign for Railroad Motel and RV Park. Couldn't pass that one up! Actually it was a beautiful sight and had much prettier views than the State Park. We were surrounded by trees and a stream ran right by our trailer. It was wonderful! Only $25 a night with full hook ups too! The hotel part was kinda cool. You actually stayed in refurbished train cars. Here is a picture of Josh and Bubbas enjoying the stream right by our 5th wheel. Not a bad location-eh? Well, all except for the bears.

Josh BBQed us up some delicious burgers and then we settled into bed for a good night's rest. We got some sleep that night. Josh couldn't sleep because he was worried about Bubbas breathing (he was sleeping next to him). I didn't sleep much because I was worried that bears were going to break into our rig. On I-5 there were signs all around these parts that showed bears crossing. Not my favorite thing at all! I have already been mercifully made fun of for being so worried that the bears would break into our 5th wheel, so no need for anyone else to at this point :). Yep, this is the sign that was along the highway. Can you believe anyone would want to live in a place that had bears? I really don't understand this logic!
More to come of the next day...Toodles!
