Oregonpalooza Day 3!

We woke up the next morning to the wonderful words of "breakfast is ready". Oh man, does it get any better than that! Breakfast was made for us! Cheryl had made us a delicious breakfast of French Toast Casserole (which Kristin and I quickly decided just wasn't right...we renamed it Nutty French Toast) sausage and orange juice. It was delicious! Everyone had to work and Peter was flying back home. So my parents, the kids, Josh, Kristin, James and I decided to take a walk to infamous Lithia park down the way. It was beautiful. Nestled behind the famous theatre where all the neat plays go on over there was a beautifully landscaped park with a really neat playground. Here is a picture of Josh and Bears all the way at the top of this cool play structure. No way would we get one of these in California.

Kristin and James swung on the swings for while while Josh and Bear played and Bubbas slept under the shady trees. We all got hungry and Kristin led us to a cool spot to eat. After eating, we all headed back to the homestead for some naps. Then, it was back to catching up with everyone and the parents deciding they would take the kiddos so that Kristin, Matt, Josh and I could go out on a real grown up date! Yeah! Kristin had been really wanting to go to a place called The Cabaret downtown so that is what we did.

We first went to dinner at a fun place and Josh and I had so much fun getting caught up with Kristin and Matt. It was great fun talking and getting to know each other better. This was one of the highlights of the trip for me. Then, it was off to the show. Now, Kristin and I gave our husbands much love for this one. The show was a musical and both of them hate musicals, but they went to it with us anyway. Good guys! The show wasn't bad and provided some good thought provoking conversation :). Plus we got to dine on some yummy dessert there called Dick Hay Pie. No, that is not a joke :), that is really what it is called. It sounds like it is a traditional dish served at Cabaret's and I am curious to research it to check out what the history is behind it.

Back to the homestead to grab the children and go to bed. The kiddos were great for the grandparents and they were pretty much all asleep by the time we go there except for Bears who was completely locked into Wallace and Grommet. Cheryl had made her fancy popcorn, got her a pillow and a blanket and she was in heaven!

We said our goodbyes and headed off to bed. This was such a fun day, thanks again Kristin and Matt for the good times!

Toodles!
